How to Apply?
Applications for placements starting in 2019/20 will be available to make through the UCAS website from October 2018.
Please note that applications have to be made through the UCAS website. Do not try to apply directly to schools:
Once applications have been shortlisted by the teaching school, applicants will be invited to interview. Placements on either training programme will be conditional to DBS checks, Kingston University and the Valley Teaching School Alliance entry requirements (GCSE C-Grade or above in English, Maths and Science, or equivalent, holding a 2.2 or above degree qualification from the UK or equivalent) and the successful completion of the Government-required skills tests.
Those trained overseas will need to complete a NARIC equivalency check before application.
Applicants will need to pass the skills tests in order to formally be accepted on the School Direct programme. This test is available to take now and can be found by clicking this link
NB. Applicants may wish to do this prior to interview, to speed up the application process.
